06:37 PM ET 04.16 | The Minnesota Timberwolves are going to turn in their ninth straight playoff-less season, but it's looking like they might not have to worry about who their head coach will be as they attempt to avoid making it 10 straight seasons. Rick Adelman had to step away from the team at times this season due to the health of his wife, Mary-Kay Adelman, and many believed that this issue would cause him to retire. But last night before the Timberwolves' final home game of the season, Adelman set the speculated record straight and said that he's not going into the offseason expecting to retire, rather he's entering the offseason with the expectation he's going to be on the Wolves' bench for the 2013-14 season. This is perhaps the best news the Wolves have heard all season, as Adelman has spent the last two years building and sculpting this team in his image and to have him leave would have been devastating to the future of the team.

Adelman is a good coach, but I hear that Phil Jackson is "itching" to go back to work in the NBA.
