Louisville installing new turf at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium

07:28 PM ET 04.16 | The Louisville Cardinals are in the process of establishing new field turf inside Papa John's Cardinal Stadium now that the Spring Game has concluded. Louisville will be utilizing FieldTurf, which is a synthetic surface that's been installed on 400 fields around the world and also employed in four NFL stadium. FieldTurf is supposed to replicate the feel of natural grass. The cost of the project is expected to be just under $750,000, with the contract providing for future turf installations.

During the Final Four, one of the local (Detroit) papers ran a story about Pizza and the schools left in the tournament. Papa John's hometown is Louisville, Domino's hometown is Ann Arbor, and the original Pizza Hut was in Witchita. Pizza is as American as hamburgers and fries.

I know that schools prefer the artificial surfaces for their stadiums, but I always like to see the game played on grass.
