08:12 AM ET 04.17 | Unfortunately for T. J. Oshie, things changed quickly. A day after [Oshie] suggested he was close to returning to the lineup, he had surgery on his left ankle to repair a stress fracture. ... [Oshie] is listed as week to week. But it appears highly unlikely Oshie will return before the regular season ends April 27. The Blues can only hope to go deep enough into a postseason appearance to get him back. "He had surgery so it's obviously significant," general manager Doug Armstrong said. ... [Oshie] is a fan favorite and among the young players with whom the Blues have rebuilt their franchise. But when it comes to ankles and absence, he is to the Blues what oft-injured David Freese has been to the Cardinals.

too bad.
But why are they linking this to Freese? So they both got hurt in the ankle....so what?

Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.....

It's a tough loss for a team that is really, really struggling to put the puck in the net. They need all the offense they can get. Elliot's resurgence has saved this team's playoff hopes, as I think their last four wins have been 1-0, 1-0, 2-0 and 2-1.

So you'd like to Freese him out?

Perhaps he needs to realize that he should leave the fighting to someone else (since that's how he hurt himself the first time) and just play hockey.

Sounds like it. Anyway, that was a nasty affair last night in St Lou. Holy smokes! That was one tough, mean, take no prisoners game.

Does anyone, other than the Blues biggest booster on these boards - POTF, think that the Blues are doing to do anything in the playoffs this year? They were a much better team last year when they should have gone much further.

It's a St. Louis paper talking about St. Louis teams.

They did lose to the eventual champs in the second round...

You'd think in St. Louis it would be more about the arch not the ankle.
