01:39 PM ET 04.17 | Back in 2009, Green Bay Packers defensive end Johnny Jolly looked like a promising young piece on a promising young team. Then it all fell apart for the hulking youngster. Jolly was arrested for a third time on drug charges, earning himself six years in a Houston jail and an indefinite suspension from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. Jolly has had many drug issues in the past, as written about by SB Nation's Packers blog, ACME Packing Company, in 2011. After serving six months, Jolly was released on the condition he enroll in a drug rehabilitation program. Had he unsuccessfully gone through the program, Jolly would have been banned from the NFL for life. However, Jolly passed with flying colors and now is being given a shot to make the Packers roster, according to the Milwaukee Wisconsin Journal-Sentinel. At 30 years old, Jolly hasn't yet shown up for minicamp, but he is expected to arrive soon for football activities.

He served all of 5 months of a 6 year sentence. The Packers must be desperate to upgrade that defense to take him on at 30 years old and no football for 2 + years. He used to check in at 320lbs. who knows.

After watching the Packer "defense" for the last couple of years, if they're not desperate they should be.
