05:59 PM ET 04.17 | NASCAR cracked the whip on Penske Racing Wednesday by suspending seven crew members of Brad Keselowski and teammate Joey Logano because of developments at the NRA 500. NASCAR also dished out $200,000 in fines for the two crews for bringing unapproved parts to the Texas Motor Speedway for last weekend's race. The two drivers and their car owners were each deducted 25 championship points as part of the punishment. With the point deductions, Keselowski has dropped to fourth in the Cup standings and Logano to 14th. Keselowski crew chief Paul Wolfe and Logano crew chief Todd Gordon were each fined $100,000 and placed on probation for the rest of the year. Travis Geisler, who is the team manager for both cars, is suspended for the next six races.

Sorry for posting this here but I found it funny:

AP Wire -- Raleigh , NC
Jeff Gordon announced today that he was firing his entire pit crew. This announcement followed Gordon's decision to take advantage of President Obama's plan to employ youngsters from Chicago's south side.
The decision to hire them was brought about by a recent documentary on how unemployed youths from Chicago's south side were able to remove a set of wheels in less than 6 seconds without proper equipment, whereas Gordon's existing crew could only do it in 8 seconds with thousands of dollars??? worth of high tech equipment.
It was thought to be an excellent and bold move by Gordon's management team, as many races are won or lost in the pits.
However, Gordon got more than he bargained for. At the crew's first practice session, not only was the inexperienced crew able to change all 4 wheels in under 6 seconds, but within 9 seconds they had changed the paint scheme, altered the VIN number, and sold the car to Dale Earnhardt Jr. for 10 cases of Bud, a bag of weed, and some photos of Jeff Gordon's wife in the shower.

Makes you wonder how those cars made it through several inspections just fine, only to have the cars flagged by NASCAR 2 hours before the race began. And let's not forget the 48 and 24 were setup in garage stalls beside the 2 and 22 respectively. Methinks Chad K. saw something too similar to his own "innovation" under the 2 and informed NASCAR of the "questionable" part.

'pampers' should read 'Pampers' (to begin a sentence you need to capitalize) and the author has taken on himself to name Joey Logano 'Pampers', one can only guess why.

'fine' should be 'fined' as in a penalty for ruining another drivers season

'untell' should read 'until'

'Danny' should be 'Denny' as in Denny Hamlin

'keselowski' should be 'Keselowski' again a persons name should be capitalized

What the actual comment was trying to say is Nascar has this secret probation that is really no probation at all unless the sponsor goes along with it. My guess is Pennzoil does not want Joey Logano to sit out any races.

And some of my best friends are Rednecks, great folks just stay upwind of them after they get drunk, of course you can say the same thing about me.

Hammered_in_Soup Thank You for the vivid explanation of what Comment #1 was trying to say. It is a little clearer now that you explained his rambling. I guess I have to take a course in Redneck Language and Grammar.
