11:05 PM ET 04.17 | The NBA scoring title was decided before any games were even played on Wednesday, the final day of the regular season. Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant posted on his Instagram Wednesday morning that he would sit out the team's regular season finale in order to rest for the upcoming NBA Playoffs. That officially ended his three-year reign as league scoring champion and gives this year's title to Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony. Anthony averaged 28.7 points going into Wednesday's game against the Atlanta Hawks. Durant finished at 28.1 per game. He will still finish as the top overall scorer with 2,280 total points, even though he will have the second-highest average.
