07:40 AM ET 04.18 | Heeeee's baaaackk -- or, at least, wants to be back? After nearly two seasons in retirement, Phil Jackson has become increasingly interested in working in the NBA next season, according to sources familiar with his thinking. That doesn't necessarily mean a return to coaching, as Jackson is known to be intrigued by the concept of moving into management for the first time in his career. But sources told ESPN.com this week that Jackson is "itching" to go back to work after a long spell to recharge since leaving the Los Angeles Lakers' bench following the 2010-11 season. Sources stressed that there is no specific opportunity in play yet for Jackson, who resisted coaching overtures from the Brooklyn Nets earlier this season.

It's too bad he can't just ride off into the sunset and enjoy his retirement.

The fact that he's marrying into the Buss family might help things out.

Accept for the fact that Phil is wanted.

I can't see the Lakers letting him go elsewhere. Even if it means giving him a small piece of ownership. I believe he would bring as much brilliance and magic that Jerry West gave the Lakers in his reign...

Are we seeing a mirage of the Lakers or are they really working well together w/out their player HC on the floor? Somebody is going to say pause, rewind, and play but trust was a major problem on the team. The scapegoat Pau had a triple double...smh

Does that mean he will get Kupcake's job? Jim Buss won't allow that.
