07:41 AM ET 04.18 | Under the threat of thunderstorms and sideways rain, the Cubs' hosting of Texas was postponed, but some news still sneaked out. A rare Carlos Zambrano sighting -- the perfect slice of information for the Twitter age -- generated the only real excitement at Wrigley Field. ... The Cubs have a lot of moving parts in their bullpen, but a team source quickly dismissed the idea of bringing back Zambrano, who was said to be working out in Miami and looking for a job. Zambrano, who still has real estate in Chicago, swung by Wrigley Field during this visit and caught up with a few people. ... Cubs are a joke as they are. Why not bring him back? could he make them worse?

If they could persuade Zambrano to be a reliever, he might be the best pitcher in their bullpen, Carlos must be pretty desperate to want to go back to the team where several players were actively campaigning for his departure. I don't see how his departure helped the Cubbies in any way.
