07:49 AM ET 04.18 | Each spring, dozens of stories from sea to shining sea crop up to capture the college football fan's offseason attention -- stories that are amplified for the nation's top program. Perhaps the most interesting story of the spring at Alabama has revolved around Christion Jones, who has been involved in two positions. He's been rotating between offense and defense. ... Which way will he go Saturday when spring drills end with the annual A-Day Game? "I'll probably be playing both of them," Jones said. Could he keep that up this fall? "Hopefully," Jones said. In his first two seasons at Alabama, Jones played at wide receiver and also returned punts and kickoffs.

Must be a slow news day in sports for someone to report this kind of drivel.

Here is the very rare occasion when I agree with you wholeheartedly. THE OFFSEASON SUXES MIGHTILY.

He's not going to play two ways. He'll be a receiver and Cyrus Jones will be a DB.

Hey, Joe. Is that because of a richness in talent in the secondary? A paucity of healthy receivers? Other reason?

It's because Cyrus Jones has a talent at DB. In the all star game he intercepted a pass and returned it for a TD. Christion Jones has hsown an aptitude for being a receiver.

We don't have a paucity of talent at either position, but DB is thinner than other positions which is why we're moving a WR to a DB position to see if he can do it. We like to run the nickel a lot against spread offenses, so we need a 3rd DB. Right now, some of our DBs are still banged up some and are wearing black jerseys. We moved these guys to see if we had to could they play the position.

If Jarrick Williams and John Fulton recover fully which we expect they will, they'll be more than able to take over the needed positions. That would give us 4 experienced DBs. For 3 positions, 1 a position that is not a FullTime DB position - the 3rd DB in the nickel. That's not enough in Coach Saban's eyes.

We have a lot more WRs that are experienced and have played in games. And have a lot of talent incoming at WR position.

This is as I thought. Truly, the Bama receiver corps would have to be injury laden indeed for there to be a paucity.
