07:55 AM ET 04.18 | Dare to dream, Sens fans. Erik Karlsson is ready to make a major step in what could be a remarkable comeback from a torn Achilles tendon. GM Bryan Murray confirmed Wednesday he sat down with the Senators' top defenceman Tuesday at his Scotiabank Place office to discuss Karlsson's progress. Murray said Karlsson could resume practising as early as next week. While the 22-year-old was scheduled to be out 4-to-6 months after a procedure Feb. 10 to repair a 70% cut from a vicious slice by the skate of Penguins' winger Matt Cooke, Karlsson could be ready to rejoin the club soon. Karlsson has been skating on his own for the last three weeks and a return for the playoffs hasn't been ruled out.

Why, WHY do you gotta go and scare me this close to a weekend :(

Besides, the Leafs haven't been swept in 30+ years. Makes up for 45, right?

You can't get swept if you don't make the playoffs.

I have the feeling this will not be a day filled with good wishes between the leading fans of the Wings and Leafs? Not sure why, just a feeling.

BTW DL, I'm not counting a sweeping anyone...........I just want to get in first!

I guess Detroit can take some solace in that after Columbus beats em to the races and probably gets creamed by Chicago.

Talk to me in 21 years.

I magine HC will be here soon. Probably putting on his game face and will attempt to be generous and understanding about how seriously this could affect the Wings. It'll all be a lie of course since he's been giggling since the final buzzer last night. :-)

For those of you unlucky enough not to see this.

Then I need to be proactive....

"Shut up Harry!"

Karlsson really wants to return so he can implement some of the tips he's picked up from watching this year's first time Norris winner, PK Chelios, while he's been on the shelf.
