09:45 PM ET 04.18 | On his yearly draft conference call with the NFL media, NFL Network draft guru Mike Mayock shared his thoughts on the upcoming draft class and went against the grain with his view on this year's cornerback class. Many had anticipated that Milliner would be a top target for the Cleveland Browns in the top 10 or that a cornerback-needy team would trade up to land the draft class' top talent at the position. However, Mayock doesn't see things the same way. Mayock stated during the call that he doesn't anticipate a cornerback being selected in the top 10.

I think he's right. I say Xavier Rhodes will be the first corner drafted, by Tampa Bay at 13.

Milliner is gonna drop.

Think you're being a bit of a homer much? There is NO chance Rhodes goes before Milliner. He's a talented player but there is no comparison. Milliner is a freak at corner and played in the SEC where the talent is abundant. Not the ACC where real talent is few and far between.

Yes. Because all of the top players in the NFL are out of the SEC. And no one from the SEC ever turns into a bust. There is no talent anywhere in CFB outside of the SEC. And you talked about homerism?

Considering I'm a Texas fan therefore I would have to rant and rave about the Big 12 in order to be a homer, I think you're wrong. I'm not saying that there is no talent anywhere but the SEC, but there is no way you can honestly think that Rhodes is a better player at his position than Milliner. That's just crazy talk.

Considering this is such a weak draft, I don't see why not Top 10 worthy.

Note that recently, CBs have been shooting up draft boards. Last year Morris Claiborne at 6 and Stephen Gilmore (sp) at 10. I have to disagree with Mayock. I think Milliner will be drafted in the top ten.

As far as Mayock goes, I think he's one of the best "draft gurus" out there.

His saying that Milliner (or no other CB) may go in the top ten picks most likely is a reflection based on what the teams in the top 10 picks are looking for position wise.

If you asked him if Milliner was one of the top ten players in the draft, my guess is you'd get a different answer.

Totally agree. I think that he's talking about what the top (bottom) ten teams will do, based on what they need. I don't think he's saying Milliner is not one of the ten best players coming out of CFB.

Mind you this coming from a Browns fan. I hope they take the boy, if he's available. I'd love to see him paired with Joe Haden. Barring that, I'd like to take a flyer on Chance Warmack.
