08:22 AM ET 04.19 | In his mind, Red Sox DH David Ortiz, who hit a home run at Class AAA Pawtucket on Thursday night, is fully ready to return to Boston and expects to be in the lineup Friday. [If] he's not activated in the next two days, he'd lose $2 million in potential earnings for next year. Ortiz said he's aware of the financial clause in his contract, but insisted that money has nothing to do with his declaration of his readiness to return on Friday. "I just found out about [the contract clause] a couple of days ago. That's not the thing I'm really thinking about right now," Ortiz told WEEI.com. "I want to go back and I want to play, but if I wasn't ready right now, then I wasn't ready. That was going to be it."

Really?! If you believe that somehow $2 mil in his pocket ain't at least a part, if not most, of the equation then I got a bridge in Brooklyn I can sell you, too.

He had better be ready to play and contribute. Right now this team is on a roll, and the last thing they need is for him to come in and rock the boat.
