08:33 AM ET 04.19 | Fans of tradition and natural grass can relax. After months of Notre Dame seemingly trending toward putting a FieldTurf artificial surface in Notre Dame Stadium, athletic director Jack Swarbrick said the Irish football team will be playing on natural grass in 2013. And likely beyond. "I see nothing in the near term that would move us away from natural grass," he told a group of media Thursday at the Joyce Center. The long term may produce a different answer, with the university wanting to schedule more and more events in the stadium, all of which could compromise the grass. But improvements to the grass surface this past season made challenging the traditionalists something Swarbrick could at least defer.

Grass or synthetic turf doesn't matter, the IRISH will continue winning.
'Bama it on our target list, we will pay back!

Judging from the last game, you might want to pick another target SF. Payback can be hell.

What a boring day in CFB. We're reduced to watching the grass grow.
