08:37 AM ET 04.19 | Not long after locking up Jimmy Howard, Detroit would like to turn its attention to extending Pavel Datsyuk's NHL career. [The Red Wings] have no idea whether [Datsyuk] will continue playing in the NHL after the 2013-14 season or return to Russia. But, at least it's a good sign that the star forward's agent wants to talk about it after this season. Agent Gary Greenstin was in Detroit recently and spoke with Red Wings general manager Ken Holland. They were not negotiating a new deal for Datsyuk. ... "I did meet with Gary Greenstin during our last homestand," Holland said. "We briefly talked about Pav and we both agreed that between now and the end of June, when he heads home, we'll sit down and have further discussion about Pav."

Yes, and there was talk of Lidstrom heading back home to Sweden for like ten years. They were also going to have a hard time continuing success after Yzerman retired.

No worries Wings fans. Pavel's going to Vancouver tomorrow to have a chat with Hank.

If that doesn't scare him into re-signing, nothing will.

You saying he'll be able to sway him away from returning to borscht, okroshka, perogies and the other "fine" foods of Russia?

What is raving about PK Subban gonna do to sway Pavel into staying in Detroit?

You don't get that level of comedy in Russia.

In Soviet Russia, joke tell you. What you mean no good comedy in Russia? Oh, because you mean that level of comedy is now in Branson, MO.

I'll tap him on the shoulder and invite him to have a chat.

Tell him how I think he's the most complete player in the game. How I can't believe anybody else even gets consideration for the Selke. (And honestly I can't).

Let him know that I made The Haj specifically to see him play, and that I don't do that for just anybody.

I thought you meant he was going to Vancouver to discuss joining the Canucks. That would be fun.

Anthony Bourdain, is that you?

He has a 10-year-old back home he never gets to see. I fear the worse, especially if they don't get him someone to pass to.
