Sabres call Buffalo's treatment of Ryan Miller 'disrespectful'

08:56 AM ET 04.20 | Ryan Miller has received a lot of abuse during his decade in Buffalo, especially during the past few years as the Sabres tumbled from the rank of contender. "They just want to see the team win," Miller said of the fans Friday after an embarrassing 8-4 loss to the New York Rangers, "and we haven't done it. We haven't lived up to any kind of expectation. It's been years and years of not getting it done." New York scored two goals in 57 seconds off the skates of Buffalo defensemen to stun the Sabres and the crowd of 19,003. Less than 10 seconds remained in the first period when the Rangers casually dumped the puck toward Miller. The fans let loose with a mock cheer when he stopped it. "Yeah, I heard it," backup goaltender Jhonas Enroth said. "I thought it was pretty embarrassing." The Sabres and their fans have had a tempestuous relationship throughout the disappointing season, with both sides showing anger toward the other. Several players joined Enroth in feeling Miller was treated unfairly as the third goal unfolded. "It's very disrespectful after what he's done for Buffalo, what he's done for this team, this organization and this city," defenseman Adam Pardy said. "It [ticks] you off when you hear that. He's been great all year. We've had wins when we've had no business winning games. The reason was Ryan Miller. To hear that is just absolute disrespect for what he???s done for this organization."

There's no crying in hockey!

Miller has been quick to throw teammates under the bus so now its his turn. I'll agree with Miller though when he said they just want to see the team win. Maybe they don't have the talent to win the Cup but they should be playing way better than the way they are.

Sure did. Hoping the boys can shake it off and return to form. I suppose it's better than getting yer arse handed to you in the first round of the playoffs, but that's probably perfuming the pig! Fingers crossed.

Holy cow Rangers fans probably forgot you could score that many goals in a game...

I dunno. I don't hear Buffalo fans booing at Bills games, and they haven't made the playoffs in 12 years. Double standard?

Hockey fans are beauties eh!

Possibly that's because the Bills aren't a bunch of whiny ****.

Says who? There's crying at every level from owners to GMs to coaches to players. Check out Chiarelli's press conference after the Iggy trade and, of course, the never ending John "Three Fingers" Tortafella mourn-fest after each Rangers game.

Speaking of the Wings, we'll be most happy to have the problematic, capricious, temperamental, disgusting, crying, criticizing, whining Ryan Miller in Detroit. I'm not sold on the Lulongo 2.0 model we have on our hands right now.
