Bruins: Jarome Iginla likely 'won't be welcomed into building'

09:09 AM ET 04.20 | Above and beyond the challenge of playing the conference's best hockey club while they're still vulnerable without Sidney Crosby, it will also be Bruins' fans first interaction with Jarome Iginla since he famously chose Pittsburgh over Boston. That reverse of course for the former Flames power forward -- and target of Boston interest -- happened after Calgary GM Jay Feaster had originally told Bruins management they'd won the Iginla sweepstakes. So it will be interesting to see if there are any lingering hard feelings from any parties involved with Pittsburgh and Iginla ready to drop in on the Black and Gold. "I saw on the Internet that [Iginla] was in Pittsburgh when I expected him to be with us. It was a little bit of a shocker. I didn't really know what the reason was, but that's the way it goes sometimes," said Brad Marchand, who returned from a concussion in Wednesday night's shootout loss. "Nothing is done until it's signed and he's over here. I'm sure there will be some fans that will be unhappy about the way it went down. I'm sure he won't be welcomed in the building. But it's also part of what makes these games even more fun. "That's how hockey goes. The [Bruins management] did a great job of bouncing back and getting a great player [in Jagr]. He's one of the best players to ever play the game and he's really helped our team so far since he's been here."

Just because Feaster's an idiot why take it out on Iggy.

The people in and around Boston do need a good stress release...

Glad some sanity is restored to Beantown today. Enjoyed seeing the leaked picture of brother #1. Go Pens, go B's!

After last night Boston deserves a break and what better way than a top tier matchup! Too bad it's at 12:30, I would have loved to watch. Good luck Boston!

It was Iggy's choice to NOT go to Boston. This isn't North Korea where the illustrious leader decides what's best for everybody. So far, we're still free to come and go as we please in this country. I hope Iggy scores a hat trick.

Should be a fun 1st period, then I expect a borin 'we're both in already' type of game. Glad they got them both, I was hoping they wouldn't have to spend money on a trial if you know what I mean.

Yeah. Amen to that. I'm hoping it turns into a love-fest where all the players come on the ice, stand shoulder to shoulder, join hands and sing "God bless America" at the top of their lungs to salute Bostonians and law enforcement. There are bigger issues to worry about and to celebrate than what any hockey player does.

They had already announced that both teams will be auctioning off their jerseys for the One Fund. I wouldn't be surprised to see both teams on the ice with raised sticks they did after the Buffalo game.

Nah...hopefully they'll get info on where these idiots got their explosives, others involved, etc. I'd love to be a fly on the wall for the "interrogations".

Agreed. I was relieved to learn they didn't read him his Miranda rights. As a traitor and a terrorist, he's not entitled to it. Hopefully he survives his wounds so they can learn all they can although I'm not sure how much this punk knows as his brother appears to have been the mastermind behind this nightmare.

Listening to the way HC talks about Iggy he could be booed when he goes back to Calgary.

He'll be following the Timothy McVeigh route...interrogations, trial, Leavenworth, needle.

True enough but he did give the Flames a list of where he would go then changed his mind when a deal was done with a team that was on that list. The Flames were trying to do the right thing for Iggy and he ended up screwing them.

Looking forward to seeing Soderberg today, hopefully.

Also, thankfully the whole ordeal is over, my relatives were under some of the lockdown orders yesterday.

An Oilers fan feeling sorry for the Flames...what is this world coming to?

In the end, the B's probably got a better player in Jagr for a lot less cost.

Koko is going to be a 2nd line forward and the B's basically gave Dallas nothing.

True that. They could've/should've gotten a better return for Iggy but, that's Feaster's fault. By waiting way too long to trade him, he painted himself into a corner and the Flames are paying for it. The same is true with Kiprusoff. Feaster sat on his hands and did nothing. Now, he panics and wants to trade him and Kipper says, "No, thank you! I'll keep taking your money and, if you trade me, I'll retire." At least the Flames got something for Iggy. They'll get nothing for Kipper. That's gotta hurt.

You're right. The Flames could've/should've gotten more for Iggy. But this is entirely Feaster's fault. By waiting so long to trade him, he painted himself into a corner and the Flames are paying the price. The same is true with Kiprusoff. Feaster sat on his hands and did nothing. Now he panics and wants to trade him. Kipper says, "Thanks! But, no thanks! I'll keep taking your money and, if you trade me I'll just retire!" Nice! At least the Flames got something for Iggy. They'll get nothing for Kipper. That's gotta hurt.
