Eddie Lacy blames poor Pro Day on lack of training

12:19 PM ET 04.20 | Alabama Crimson Tide running back Eddie Lacy is trying to explain his uninspiring pro day with less than a week remaining before the draft, according to the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal-Sentinel. Lacy believes lack of practice time caused him to be out of shape, something that could have him free-falling down draft boards if teams don't buy his reasoning. The top-rated running back is coming off a strained hamstring that sidelined him for the NFL combine. Then at his pro day, Lacy ran 40-yard dashes of 4.57 and 4.60 before cutting the workout short because he was tired. Many believe that Lacy's best chance to go in the first round would be at No. 26 to the Green Bay Packers, who are in dire need of a running back. Not surprisingly, Lacy believes it would be a good fit.

What a great excuse.

"I mean, I would've performed better but I couldn't because I never worked very hard at conditioning and stuff, so it's not my fault".

Thanks for clearing that up, Lacy.

Excuses are like .....well you know. Best opportunity you are likely to get in your entire life, a year or more to prepare and you weren't ready. I think that tells the story for your future. Stupid can't be fixed.

"I was just out of shape....it don't mean nothin', I'll be in great shape when it matters. Just pay me an you'll see."

I heard the Rams are trading up for him? The Pack have too many needs on D and O line so they will pass on him and look at later rounds for a back.

Serioulsy I watched some game film of him and he had holes a semi could drive through but once in the open, he was ran down from behind by corners all day long. Does not have breakaway speed at all like AP. Thats his problem. If there's not hole youve got nothing.
