10:10 AM ET 04.21 | Mike D'Antoni is unlikely to receive any votes for NBA coach of the year, but he was part of a stunning turnaround that saw the Lakers climb from a record of 17-25 and 12th place in the Western Conference to finish at 45-37 and seventh. Since the team's crucial meeting to clear the air after a Jan. 23 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, the Lakers won 28 of 40 games. That's a 70% winning percentage through that stretch -- a 57-win pace over a full 82-game schedule. "We never stopped playing," center Dwight Howard said after the Lakers clinched the seventh seed in the conference playoffs. "We're playing great defense and trusting each other." How much credit should go to the coach? How much should go to the players?

Does Mike D'Antoni deserve credit for Lakers' turnaround?...

Would PJ have received credit for the Lakers' turnaround? Would another coach had received credit for the Lakers' turnaround?

Everyone standing on the hardwood floor and being on the Lakers' payroll deserves credit, not just for being in the playoffs but for grabbing the seventh seed and without Kobe. They shouldn't even be suited up this post season, period.

YES! Mike D'Antoni deserve credit for Lakers' turnaround...

Credit and blame go hand in hand. Let's see if he can really coach during the playoffs.

There will be eight winning and eight losing teams this first round. Will all eight winning coaches get credit and ALL eight losing coaches BE blamed for not advancing?

Anyone, anyone???

So you think D'antoni should give Pop a box of wine pregame?

Out coaching your opponent could lead to upsetting higher ranked teams. In that case the winning coach definitely deserves the credit and the losing coach the blame.

Pop has his wine trucked by the barrel so he's set already.

Then, we're in trouble. Hopefully Parker will wave his white flag...

He is French you know!!!

For all the grief D'Antoni got this year the Lakers had to play well down the stretch to get into the playoffs. They went 8-1 in their final 9 games to make the playoffs, that's good.
