Brown wants to coach again
Larry Brown was in his element, glad-handing players, coaches and NBA executives. Brown, the 76ers' executive vice president, made the trip to Atlanta for last night's game at Philips Arena, and he was enjoying himself. "I miss the game, sitting here," Brown said in an interview before last night's game against the Hawks. The Hall of Fame coach said he would like to coach again in some capacity, but he doesn't want the Sixers' post. "I don't want Mo's job. I have said that," Brown said about Maurice Cheeks. "When I came to Philly, Mo was a big part of my staff and, a matter of fact, I had to beg him to explore coaching possibilities. His growth has been amazing to me." In his role with the Sixers, Brown has been able to instruct players at practice. Afraid of stepping on others' toes, he said he has worked with the players at the insistence of Cheeks and his staff. Brown also likes the future of this team.

If any team hires him, they are getting a great coach but its not a good move unless they plan on getting a new coach in 6 months to 3 years

He is stable. Look at the Knicks. Doesn't matter who is coaching them. The personnel is a coach killer.

This summer: Brown takes new job with some struggling franchise (Heat, Bucks, Wolves, etc). Says all the PC things about how he "Wants to take the franchise to the next level, blah blah blah
End of next season: 15 game improvement, maybe an 8 playoff seed with a 1st-round exit
End of following season: 10 more games, 4 playoff seed, conference semis or finals
End of third season: 50+wins, NBA finals, win the title or at least come real close
Summer after: Quits, bolts to one of the 10 or so locations he hasn't worked at to take some consultant's job, says his coaching days "are definitely over.
Two years later: Starts talking to NY about a second go after they finish their 8th consecutive season out of the playoffs. NY'ers are so desperate to win by that point we forget how awful his season really was.

He is doing a decent job, but when will the owners be tired of decent?

Translation: I'll wait for someone else to stab Mo in the back before I take his position.
