06:25 PM ET 04.21 | Baltimore Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome didn't get to bask in his team's Super Bowl win for long because as soon as the offseason started, he had to deal with a roster that was going to see a lot of turnover, and has. Seven starters from last season have are gone, including Ed Reed, Ray Lewis, Anquan Boldin and Dannell Ellerbe. It looked like the Ravens would be in a lot of trouble, but Newsome has remained calm, insisting that they made some hard decisions this offseason so they wouldn't have to in future years when Torrey Smith and Dennis Pitta were free agents. Then Newsome gto a break when he was able to sign Elvis Dumervil and Michael Huff late in the free agency period and all of a sudden, things are looking up in Baltimore.

His skills paid off this year for the Ravens, lets at least wait until the season starts to see how he did this off-season.

Newsome is one of the best ever GMs.

When he's picked a good one, it's usually one that REALLY stands out, but he's had some stinkers as well that we don't like to talk about. The Elvis D. thing was just dumb luck that fell out of the sky. Sort of like Jacoby's catch against Denver in the playoffs. With Ray and Ed gone it may be a little more difficult to bring a diamond out of the rough.

QBs and WRs were mostly all stinkers in the first 10 years. In recent years, they've shown some competence in those areas. Let's see if the Ravens can still find linebacker drafted or undrafted steals like they used to.
