07:47 PM ET 04.21 | The San Francisco 49ers could pull off a trade to move up in the first round of the NFL Draft, according to Yahoo! Sports. The 49ers own the 31st overall pick, but at least one GM believes they could be moving up to the 13th or 14th selection, which are owned by the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers, respectively. "There is no way that the 49ers can keep more than five or six new draft picks with the way the team is structured right now," the Yahoo! report states. "Expect GM Trent Baalke to either trade up or trade out for picks in the future." If they stay at No. 31, our senior staff writer Turron Davenport believes they will be selecting defensive end Dantone Jones out of UCLA. But it remains yet to be seen what the 49ers will truly do.

I really like the Niners chances for next season, but the Seattle played last year and with way the Falcons have done to improve themselves, the Niners better draft wisely.

San Fran is trying to frantically arm, like North Korea yo... You can't buy a ring.

There are only 3 players the 49ers would target at #15 and one of them is a WR. Vaccaro or Carradine would be the defensive players.

how are they "buying a ring"? they got Boldin for a 6th round pick, and he didn't get a pay raise. they let Goldson walk, because they didn't want to give him $41 mil., Nnamdi signed for 1 year / $1 or $2 mil., they resigned Anthony Davis, but the team drafted him, and the 13th to 14th overall pick will only make $10- $15 mil. and that's all guaranteed money.

We need to replace the void at FS. By far the dumbest thing we've done this offseason was to let Dashon Goldson go. Donte Whitner and Chris Culliver were the two main guys blowing coverages in the playoffs. Now he's teamed up with Revis Island in Tampa Bay making them a solid defense. We really need to trade up to somehow get Millner from 'Bama. We could use someone to line up opposite Asomugha with Carlos Rogers getting long in the tooth.

They don't have to buy a ring -- they've already got five of them.

And, they are already armed pretty well even before the draft.

The smart choice would be for the Raiders to make a deal with the '9ers for that #3 overall pick, exchanging 1st round picks and get 3 or 4 additional choices in the second, third, and fourth rounds.

How many people still active in that organization have one of those 5 rings? Sorry, but rings older than 10-15 years are completely irrelevant to current teams, except for the owner families.

To your point, the 49ers aren't trying to buy a ring, they are building the right way. They're just trying to add some pieces to get them over the top.

Every team will do whatever is in their power to Win a Super Bowl, even if it involves buying or trading for the best talent available.

Robataille is probably a Green Bay fan, some of them are under the false assumption that Green Bay does not buy "Free Agents" in order to build a team, but only believe in drafting in order to build a team.

Lucky for Goldson. Without the trade for Revis it would have been a very long season for Goldson. How is Tampa Bay going to afford the 2 of them whose salaries combined could add up to $24 million a year. I understand that none of Revis's contract is guaranteed.

Sorry, a Super bowl victory never goes away for any organization. It's always there, and in fact, is always going to be relevant.

Just ask any fan......

You have no idea what you're talking about. Clearly. This team has done nothing but solidify. They have lost more than they've gained. What they are doing in building for 10 years of Superbowl runs and they are doing it well. Smart contracts for upgrades like Namdi and even smarter contracts for hungry contributors like Dahl and Morrah who may not even make the team. They are drafting smartly and should be in the mix to win for a long time. They are throwing money at anyone.

I disagree about Culliver. You don't pay a guy $40 million who isn't as good as Ed Reed, and with a draft loaded with young safeties who are better in coverage that Goldson. Smart move.

10 years of super bowl runs? Let's not get ahead of ourselves. I agree things look great for the next 5 years.

Spot on. And I could see them trying to add a good #2/possession receiver to help CK out a bit. IMO it could be Robert Woods, someone Harbaugh is familiar with and, IMO, is one of the most underrated receivers out there. The only knock I have heard on him is he occaisionally drops one he shouldn't.

But he has decent size and speed, gets good seperation, is one of the best route runners in the draft, did it all at USC (return man, #1 WR, #2 WR, gets open deep/across the middle/in traffic/ sidelines/reverses). He was a Biletnikoff finalist last year before Lame Kiffin fell so in love with Marquise that he ignored his biggest threat from 2011, and according to Matt B that is one reason the team flopped.

OK, I'm a USC homer but Woods and SF are a perfect fit.
