06:55 AM ET 04.22 | Having failed in its attempts to sign Aqib Talib and Antoine Winfield, Washington remains intent on adding help in the defensive backfield. [The Redskins] on Sunday evening hosted veteran cornerback Quentin Jammer as they continue to search for solutions to upgrade their secondary, three people with knowledge of the situation confirmed, though two of them said it didn???t seem like the Redskins were on the verge of signing him immediately. Jammer, an 11-year veteran who turns 34 in June, has spent his entire career with the San Diego Chargers. He remains an unrestricted free agent. The Redskins have tried in vain to add another established veteran defensive back to the roster since the start of free agency.

He would be a nice experienced addition.

Depends on how much he's asking for.

I haven't heard anything about the Patriots looking at him. Whenever a DB is on the market, I wonder if he would fit in New England.

Quentin Jammer....absolutely the best name for a corner, maybe ever.

Can the Redskins afford him? at 34 he would be due the circa $1 million minimum salary.

If he does not have a team in the fall to play on, does he become Sans Quentin. Who names their kid after a prison?

With the penalty and the salaries of players already signed I don't see how they can afford to carry more than 40 players this year. Someone working on the U.S. budget must also be doing the Skins' books.

Imagine if God Goodell hadn't taken away $19 million of our cap space this season, like last year....

I thought he was named after the ghost from Dark Shadows. He does vanish mysteriously sometimes in man coverage.
