06:57 AM ET 04.22 | The Isle of Revis now has a new and very expensive address. [Darrelle Revis] will receive an annual $13 million base salary, $1.5 roster bonus and $1.5 million workout bonus, according to a league source. Owner Woody Johnson's refusal to pay that kind of top-dollar contract extension for one of the best players in franchise history prompted new general manager John Idzik to deal his most valuable asset to further Gang Green's rebuilding process. "The organization is not committed to winning," a source close to Revis told the Daily News on Sunday. ... Revis' departure leaves a cavernous hole in an already depleted secondary that also lost its top three safeties in the offseason. "It [stinks]. That's my reaction: It [stinks]," Pro Bowl cornerback Antonio Cromartie told the News on Sunday.

"A source close to Revis...."

Yeah, okay.

Not only did he make off like a fat rat with his contract; it's tax free in FL.

I'm surprised he's not talking hold out for more money in Tampa.

April 22, 2013  07:23 AM ET

If by completing this trade we may be spared anymore press related to "Revis Watch" all the money is wroth it.

Rex has ruined this team! Plain and simple!

Give him some time. Darrelle usually saves stuff like that for training camp.

But, to his credit, at least he's not getting arrested like Rolando McClain. I think Ozzie better start thinking about drafting a linebacker.

The classy thing to do would have been to express appreciation and move on. Obviously Revis' posse has no concept of class.

The weren't exactly tearing up the league before he got there.

His steadfast devotion to Sanchez, though, has been his downfall.

Well it sounds like a great deal for the NYJ's. The problem is they have 2 first round picks this year and not much cap space. I haven't been following their day to day attempts to get under the cap. I do know that at the end of the season they were $17 million over the cap.

The only reason I didn't want Revis to go to Tampa Bay so soon is only because I wanted to see how Goldson would have done without Revis. Those 2 DB's account for about 24 million a year if they reach all their goals. Not really sure that even the addition of Revis will help Tampa Bay make the playoffs this year.

Sure they do!

There's class 1 substances, class 2 substances, class 3 substances.....

No guaranteed money in the contract? Odd.

For the life of me I can't figure that one out. He even got a tattoo of the guy! Am I missing something?

Cromartie has enough on his plate to think about. Mothers day is coming up, the least he could do is send them each flowers, and then fathers day a few weeks later.

I think it's Rex who's missing something.

Like any memory of the drunken night when he got that tattoo.

I'm sure that will be a point of emphasis in his next holdout.

1.5 million workout bonus? I would have thought keeping in shape would have been part of his job.

Glad this is over.I'd have liked to get another pick, but we needed to move on.

I am a little surprised they were able to get the the 13th pick. With their 9 and #39 pick they should get some immediate help. Good move for everybody.

It's still early...

This is the guy who was balking at showing up for training camp because he wanted to do his knee rehab out West somewhere.

I think Tampa Bay bought into the same jive that the Jets did.
