05:04 PM ET 04.22 | The New York Jets are very interested in outside linebacker Barkevious Mingo of the LSU TIgers, according to Conor Orr of The Star-Ledger. Mingo has long been looked upon as a good fit for the Jets, since they are a team that desperately needs a pass rusher who can do some damage. Last year, Quinton Coples led the team with 5.5 sacks. The good news? A rookie provided good production. The bad news? There have been players such as Derrick Thomas who have had more sacks in a single game than that. Mingo registered 4.5 sacks for LSU last year in the tough SEC. Many feel as though the Louisiana native is simply scratching the surface of his talent. However Mingo's lack of size at 6'4, 241 lbs. has some concerned.

You could leave the headline at 'Jets especially high' and still have an accurate story.

Then no one else should touch this guy with 12 foot pole.

I can't remember the last time NYJ successfully spotted talent. Their interest in him tells me he's going to be a bust.

"Barkevious Mingo"..What a name! Forget the stats...Knowing the Jets, they'll probably draft him on that alone.

I find it interesting how much criticism the Jets get. True the last 2 years have not been great, but what about the 2 before that. Things have a way of turning fast in the NFL. What were Seattle, San Fran and Washington just 2 seasons ago? In the Ryan era they have always had a solid defense and I suspect they will again. If they get low turnover QB play, they will be respectable. I hate to see Revis go,but with 3 draft picks in the first 39 they have a chance to rebuild quickly.

The problem with the two years before that is your big mouth coach guaranteed a Super Bowl win.

How is it possible that a team that is so bad, generates so many threads? The Jets Suck, their owner is a mess, head coach a buffoon, and record abysmal. So why, under the heavens. would anybody but a Sanchezied Jets fan care?

That would explain Rex Ryan's weight and decision making skills.

Revis. Mangold. Ferguson. The team is able to spot talent, except at QB.
