Bucks forward Charlie Villanueva has been aching for a chance to play meaningful minutes. But he's not happy the chance could come due to an injury to starting power forward Yi Jianlian, Villanueva's frustration has grown in recent weeks, and he felt compelled to address trade rumors on the blog he writes for NBA.com, with the league trade deadline approaching Feb. 21.

The bucks have so much promise, but the team just hasnt gelled.. They need to trade a few guys while their trade value is high.

trade odom for villanueva and simmons

February 5, 2008  11:09 AM ET

Donny: Why is it that you want to trade Odom away for practically everyone? You posted something similar on the Artest story.. Make up your mind already! And why would you want Villanueva when you just got Gasol? Charlie doesn't play the three and would hurt your team more than help it.

These threads always puzzle me. If you're not satisfied with your playing time, work on your game. This epitomizes what's wrong with todays' player. I'm not getting enough playing time, so I want a trade. Has "play me or trade me" ever worked out for anybody?

February 5, 2008  11:38 AM ET

I'd have to agree with you there, Hllywd. I'm tired of hearing the sniveling, too.

February 5, 2008  12:08 PM ET

Maybe go to Memphis I hear they need big men there (with talent)

February 5, 2008  12:09 PM ET

He will be traded away. The Knicks remain interested.

Donny is just a hater. Nothing is wrong with Lamar Odom.

February 5, 2008  01:10 PM ET

nothing is wrong with Lamar bcuz Gasol is here now.....he could be the 4th option thats what he likes....

February 5, 2008  01:26 PM ET

Odom will be a fine 4th option behind Kobe, Gasol and a healthy Bynum

But Odom is a marketable asset, a 6-10 ball handling SF......

So if the Lakers get a chance to further improve the team, they will do it

Trade Odom and sombody plus a 2nd rounder for Kidd, maybe???

February 5, 2008  02:16 PM ET

Kidd will NOT be in a Lakers uni this season. Wishful thinking is just that.. wishful.

How about Tracy McGrady and Chuck Hayes for Redd and Villueneuva?

February 5, 2008  03:44 PM ET

I like Tracy McGrady and Chuck Hayes for Yi and Redd better. You can have the two Chinese 7' footers on same team, both speaking Chinese and forming a tough defense. We can call it the Great Wall of China. Sound good?

February 5, 2008  03:45 PM ET

Sounds funny but I doubt the Bucks go for it.

February 5, 2008  03:56 PM ET

Gotta keep the chinese happy its all bout thier 46 trillion billion viewers

February 5, 2008  03:58 PM ET

I did the whole espn trade machine thing and redd and villuenueva for tmac and hayes works money wise.

February 5, 2008  04:12 PM ET

Trade Charlie to the Hawks for S Williams and S Claxton, then buy out Claxton. Save money for the future. S Williams will provide the rebounding sans the scoring.
Charlie and Childress can be solid bench for the Hawks

February 5, 2008  06:19 PM ET

I like the idea of trading charlie V but I don't see the bucks dealing Redd. Villanueva hasn't produced, like he did for the raptors, and dealing him would be a very good idea. He has potential and is young. He just doesn't seem to fit in Milwaukee. Yi and Bogut are just better.

February 5, 2008  06:24 PM ET

I think Charlie would be a nice fit in Phoenix....Perhaps we could convince them to take Boris and a first round draft pick (Hah!)..It would giv the Suns a little more size with same tsame kind of versatility...

February 6, 2008  01:12 AM ET

I agree with getting rid of charlie v. he does need to grow a pair before he becomes a worthy starter in the nba, the only thing i can see the bucks getting rid of Redd for is if they get a point guard that can dish the ball cuz Mo Williams to me would be a better asset as a 2 then a 1, or a PF that actually has some inside prenece to take a load off Bogut.

Doubtful they will do anything though, im glad they didnt jump on zach randolph cuz hes getting paid a ridiculous amount of money. Oh well just sit back milwaukee and wait and see what lottery pick we are going to get

February 6, 2008  01:13 AM ET

I would take Odom for Charlie V and Simmons, Odom could remain a number 3 or 4 scorer behind Redd, Williams, Bogut, sometimes Yi. And the bucks desperatly need defense specially against Peirce, Lebron, Prince and any other good SF in the East.

The only way i see Redd going anywhere is if the bucks get a PG that can dish the ball and not get hurt every 3 weeks, cuz Mo could easy play SG and be effective OR getting a PF with some low-post presence to help Bogut on DEF and REB

But i dont think anything exciting will go on with the bucks, so milwaukee just sit back and wait for yet another lottery pick!
