07:00 AM ET 04.23 | Among the questions facing Alabama heading into A-Day was who might take the lead in a race to back up AJ McCarron. Blake Sims started Saturday at quarterback for the Crimson team, which featured the second-team offense and first-team defense. He had a good spring, but he was not impressive in the A-Day Game. He completed 5 of 10 passes for 52 yards. Two of his passes were intercepted by safety Nick Perry. ... Alec Morris looked better than any of six quarterbacks not named AJ McCarron. Showing off a strong arm, Morris completed 10 of 18 passes for 141 yards and did not have any passes intercepted on a day when six passes were picked off. Morris will be a redshirt junior this fall.

Don't read too much into that. I remember two QBs who kicked (backside) in the A-Day game but transferred out a year later when they didn't progress (Star Jackson, Phillip Simms).

What's intriguing about it. Stupid article is stupid.

Sims looked like he lacked arm strength. Tried to throw the ball away and came up 10 yards short of the sideline.

Sims play reminded me exactly of how Star Jackson used to look. They need to let him go back to being more of an option type QB that does that read option. He could do that great.

Nick needs to do something. Well, who am I to question that man??? I suspect he has a plan in place. Morris seems to be the answer for the offense they want to run. I think Cooper Bateman will be redshirted. He seems to be the future right now unless they recruit a big hitter next year. And I'll tell you...don't count out Luke Del Rio. He has some skills...and he sure as heck has the genes.

The only intrigue is which one has a hottie gf so Mushmouth can drool over her when AJ moves on.

Nothing would please me more than Bama having issues at QB once AJ's out of the picture, but, no matter how poorly the others on the roster perform this Spring, I do not see a future Bama team with a weak QB [mutter, mutter, grumble, grumble]...
