02:44 PM ET 04.23 | Head coach Bob Davie has agreed to a two year contract extension with the University of New Mexico. Davie's deal now goes through the 2019 season, but his salary will remain at $750,000 a year. The Lobos went only 4-9 during Davie's first season in Albuquerque, but even that meager result represents a significant improvement in performance. Before Davie arrived, New Mexico didn't win four games in the 2009, 2010, and 2011 seasons, combined.

Bob's showing his years.

A 4-9 record buys a lot these days.

At first, I didn't realize Bob Davie was still coaching CFB. Then I read it was New Mexico, and realized he isn't.

Considering the way Mike Locksley left the program, UNM should give Davie a hundred million dollars for winning four games in his first year.

QUOTE(#6):

PSA for all the stuck up South East folks - just because you've never been to the wild, wild (south) west doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Been there. You're right, it does exist, but it doesn't translate into good football. Davie must've gone there for health reasons 'cause sitting in the back of an ESPN van is closer to football than anything you'll ever see in NM.

UMN will be back to 6-6 to 8-4 kinda seasons in another 2 years or so IMHO. If they can make it there then the raise and the extension will be justified. If not, they will look a lot like ND did with the raise and extra years they offered Jabba.

To Marlins Fan:

Unless you're talking about California, CFB in the "wild, wild (south) west" is pretty underwhelming. If you don't like the fact that UNM's football program is considered a lightweight, then donate all you can, because it's pretty awful.
