Can the 49ers make it back to the Super Bowl?

06:53 PM ET 04.23 | For a second straight campaign, the San Francisco 49ers avoided catastrophic injuries to their stars as they seized the NFC West title. Repeating their regular season success in 2013 will be no guarantee, particularly since the roster's once-overwhelming depth was purged in free agency. But 13 picks in the upcoming draft will plug the holes (along with several impact veteran additions), so despite the improvements of NFC West rivals, it's still ill-advised to bet against San Francisco. The road ahead of the 49ers isn't the easiest road in the NFL, but that's the way Jim Harbaugh likes it. Last season helped harden them in to a Super Bowl contender, and they proved that if you hold your own in the regular season, you're better for it in the postseason.

Not even making it to the Super Bowl next year is going to be harder for them to bear than losing it this past year was.

They've got Nnamdi Asomugha so they're a lock... for blown coverage.

They "can"...the question is "will" they?

How long can their running quarterback avoid the big hit that ends their hopes? (see RGIII).

Hopefully not as long as ours (Wilson) can.
