06:58 PM ET 04.23 | The Lions have proven time and again they're an aggressor in the NFL draft. They moved up to grab Javid Best, Mikel Leshoure and Tahir Whitehead while making bold selections of Titus Young and Brandon Pettigrew to aid quarterback Matthew Stafford. Today, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported the Lions have made calls to move back from their fifth pick. He later said the Atlanta Falcons and the Miami Dolphins have shown interest in moving up, although no correlation with the Lions was made. Many agree in saying he may intrigue Martin Mayhew enough to pair him with Calvin Johnson. The Lions have made bold moves before, would the Lions selecting Tavon Austin surprise you?

"Aggressor?" "Bold move?" Those aren't the first things that come to mind when I hear the Lions want to select a WR with their first pick. Would it surprise me? No. Only a smart pick/trade would surprise me.

True...

Draft time brings out the Idiots every year...

Most Mocks have Austin going Mid-1st... but this isn't as bad as Nassib (4th rated QB) going to Buffalo @ 8 - just cause his former coach is now running the Bills.

These teams are picking Early for a reason - and blowing Draft picks will only insure they continue to pick early (Like Detroit).

And on a side note: Is "moving up to grab" a 5th Rounder (Whitehead - 10 Tackles in 14 games) a Bold Move?

If they do they're pretty damn dumb.

He needs to be available when the Rams pick.

He would be the perfect choice for St. Louis, wouldn't he?

I don't like the fit in Detroit, at all. But the Rams could desperately use someone like Tavon Austin.
