NBA's most polarizing player at a crossroads

07:05 AM ET 04.24 | Scoring machine Carmelo Anthony has -- for the time being, anyway -- left behind any publicly messy grudges with the Celtics and turned his attention to greater matters. He's perhaps the most polarizing figure in the NBA, and also one of the most dangerous. Especially now. Unburdened by the leadership role that he doesn't have to fill, surrounded by players who complement him and thriving in an offense that is built around his immense talent, [Anthony] has arrived at a career crossroads. ... [The] Melo who eviscerated the Celtics in an 87-71 rout in Game 2 on Tuesday night, the one who ruthlessly turned back the bullies from Boston every time they showed some life, has never been more comfortable -- never more prepared to write a new ending to what has been a largely unfulfilling journey.

Defense will be the key for the Knicks if they want to beat the Heat. Their perimeter defense is the key just like what they're doing to the Cs. Slowing down penetration and challenging outside shots are the keys.

I forgot that they have to stop the Pacers first but use the same strategy.

This game was straight awful to watch. Felt like I was watching a Single-A baseball game.

thats playoff basketball....it gets chippy and shooting percentages dont go up...boston shot well, until the Knicks put the defensive clamps down in the second half

They're missing their true PG. now we see the true value of Rondo. Bradley is just a mediocre player.

MVP. He's the real MVP but since Nike makes those decisions it goes to Mr. Corporate Logo - Lebron!

The journey ends badly. Likely to the Pacers who have bigger, faster, and stronger defenders than does Boston. Boston will be in rebuilding mode for a long time. Ainge sold the future for that 1 title.

You said NY would lose to BOSTON in the first round, sir.

I don't feel that Carmelo is the most polarizing player in the NBA. IMO, that would be a toss up between Kobe and The Decision.

Forget him. Once again he reinforces his lack of knowledge and credibility. He's still waiting for the Knicks to collapse in the second half, oblivious to the fact that we're beyond it and in the playoffs.

At least he's got Kyrie Irving's Rookie of the Year title to hang his hat on. Oh wait! Kyrie didn't win ROY. It appears he was wrong again.
