Birdman wants to keep flying for Heat

06:55 AM ET 04.25 | Fans of Birdman Chris Andersen may yet have beyond this season to crow in Miami. [Mark Bryant, Andersen's attorney and agent,] said Andersen wants to re-sign with the Heat this summer when he becomes a free agent. The Birdman, interestingly, does not have Bird rights, the NBA provision that allows teams to exceed the salary cap by re-signing their own free agents. Players must be with a team for two seasons to have early-Bird rights and three seasons to have full rights. But the Heat will have the taxpayer mid-level exception that starts at $3.183 million. They could use all or part of that on Andersen. "We're certainly hopeful," Bryant said of Andersen re-signing with Miami.

He should be resigned...
At the same time the dead weight on the team needs to be removed.
Amnesty Joel Anthony and sign Dalembert too....
Haslem is aging, put Bosh back to his natural position & start either Birdman or Dalembert...

I'd start Dalembert, Dee.

Birdman is your energy guy off the bench. He's perfect for that role. Not so sure about in the starting lineup... but you have a better vantage point than I.

Sale beet is a better combination of offense, rebounding AND defense. Andersen is limited on offense. If Sam can average 10ppg...the Heat would be nearly impossible to beat IMO.

*Dalembert*

I agree, Otis. Andersen is a great energy guy off the bench, but can Miami afford both?

I think Dalembert is done. He doesn't bring it every night that's why he is not used that much.

Amnesty Anthony? How much does he make? 2-2.5 million? Amnesty somebody in the 5-6 million range and you can afford both Dalembert and Andersen.

Just like everyone else, Birdman wants to know he's got a job. PERIOD.

Mike Miller is the only player on the Heat within that 5-million range, and they've reassured him that he won't be amnestied (rightfully so I might add). I would consider amnestying Joel, and signing both Birdman and Anderson for the minimum.

Did You Fly Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Bro.

Potential 2014 Roster:
PG: Chalmers, Cole
SG: Wade, Allen, Miller
SF: James, Battier
PF: Bosh, Haslem
C: Dalembert, Anderson

Throw in a Rashard Lewis and a couple other spot-fillers, and as crazy as it sounds, next year's Miami squad may be even better than this year's, as long as age isn't too much of a factor.

Age? In that case you can definitely put a question mark over the heads of Wade, Allen, Battier, and Haslem. Their games and overall effectiveness depends on what they have been in their youth, which of course with every passing day they no longer have.

What ever happened to birdman's criminal case?

What's wrong with a starting lineup of: Chalmers,Wade,Bron,Bosh,Sammy D???
Cole,Allen,Battier,Haslem/Lewis,Birdman...
Heat become more beastly!

Whatever the left-over combo will be, it is hard to imagine anyone beating the 'Bron-led team in the next 2-3 seasons. Not 1, not 2, not 3 but maybe 4.

I think that is what most thought about Birdman too, but look at him now.

I don't think Dalembert is being used because of the type of offense the Bucks want to run.

The Heat are pretty unstoppable now and with another full serviceable big man, they would put the league on lock.

Anybody who is real fan knows the heat wont win more than 4.
Tell us something that we don't know!
