06:56 AM ET 04.25 | Matching a pair of coaches who are guaranteed nothing beyond this season, the Clippers have jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Lionel Hollins' Grizzlies. "Would I liked to have had a contract before this? Of course," said Hollins, now in his fifth consecutive season and third stint as the Grizzlies coach, a relationship that dates back to the franchise's roots in Vancouver. "But that's a decision that's made and you go and do the best job you can." ... [Mike Conley] said players have not talked individually to Hollins, but that they do discuss his fuzzy situation. "It does seem like it's weird that it's taken so long or if it's going to happen or what, and we're having such a successful year. I think everyone's in agreement with that."

Anyone looking for a coach would do well to wait and see if the Grizz are dumb enough to let this guy go.

He's done a great job there.

Agreed. Best coach the Grizz have ever had.

lakers?hollins clearly knows how to feed the postBut the issue is, as I said when they traded rudy....is that replacing a solid 18+ pt guy is TOUGH.they don't have any wing scoring.....CHEAP TEAMS TAKE NOTICE....dumping proven scorers cause it costs a few $$$ will cost you a chance at advancing in the playoffs

My thoughts are they knew keeping Rudy wouldn't take them any further so why pay him max money when the best you can hope for is 2nd round. Less payout same result owner makes more money or doesn't lose as much.

He was against trading Rudy. He was against feeding the post players. He is against playing Allen more than 25 minutes. Right now he is against the wall and needs to pull out some wins. He is playing QPon and DA too much. He needs to listen to Hollinger's stats and keep those guys on the bench as much as possible.

Watching Rudy fire away again and again was cringe worthy. Rudy shooting 40% in high volume was not good for the team, he is an inefficient scorer . He is a good player who thinks he is great. He not being there is not the reason they are down 2-0. They played good games, the Clippers are just a bit better. I think they can still pull out a few wins, if not the series, if Marc takes advantage of his matchup and Zach starts to play better.

why wouldn't rudy take them further?cause they had one playoff where they got beat?at minimum...they should've kept him til the year was over THEN trade him int he summer, if it didni't work. Trading him mid-season? ?? that was just dumb (imo)

I see what they lost on paper in Gay but they are just as good without Gay. They overpaid for an inefficient player that doesn't make them better. They realized they could get way cheaper players for the type of production Gay provided. He is the inefficient "Melo" with hops and highlights that doesn't get to the line. The longer you wait on trades the longer it takes to get deals done for players making max type money.

who is providing the production they have lost?you nees to score in the playoffs to win, they have some post scoring, but they have no guy that can go for 30 when their bigs are in foul trouble or are off.I am not sayign rudy isn't overpaid, not saying he's a #1 type player....but he is a scorer and they simply don't have that- they are a defensive team, with or without rudy

1. who is providing the production they have lost? I think it depends on what you are comparing this series to what regular season? I think most of it has gone to Conley as he is scoring more. Prince is not having a good series at all shooting the ball. Zach is also having an below average series mostly due to his foul issues. Gasol is not shooting a good %. I still say they are not missing Gay. It is a combined team effort and they still lost to a gamewinner in one game.
