Bills 'really like' Matt Barkley

01:13 PM ET 04.25 | Will the Buffalo Bills be the first team to select a quarterback in Thursday's draft? It is possible, but as to who that player could be, it seems a mystery. There were conflicting reports on Wednesday regarding the Bills pre-draft thoughts on the quarterbacks in this draft class, and we might not be any closer to the facts until Buffalo makes their selection. Which rumor seems the most plausible at the moment? ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported on NFL 32 that the Bills are "more likely than not" to take Ryan Nassib with the no. 8 pick in the draft. Buffalo's head coach Doug Marrone was Nassib's coach at Syracuse and the natural connection between the two has been made for quite some time, but Mortensen's assertion that Nassib could be "the first quarterback chosen in this draft" would come as a surprise. Not only to Geno Smith, the longtime "consensus" top quarterback available this year, but also to Peter King of Sports Illustrated, since King said on Wednesday that the Bills really like USC quarterback Matt Barkley. So is it "more likely than not" that the Bills like Nassib over all the other quarterbacks, or is it Barkley that they covet? Will they take a quarterback at all in the first?

Unfortunately for Barkley, there's nothing he can do to change that, with the draft nigh.

Alot of teams that don't need a quarterback love this draft. They like seeing the quarterback needy teams reaching to select a QB well before their time. That leaves some of the real number one draft quality players to slide down and become available.

Just because they like him doesn't mean they like him as a QB. It's possible they're looking for a towel boy and really like him for that position.

He could tweet about how taking money from agents and using it to buy cocaine so he could enjoy his imaginary girlfriend.

It might scare away Buffalo, but other teams would move him up a couple of notches for that.

Note passed to Barkley at lunch: "Buffalo really likes you. [] Check here if you like them back. [X] Check here if you think Buffalo is totally gross."

I still think Nassib is the one.

I just can't see Barkley playing well in Buffalo during the winter.
