Lewis has little faith in Super Bowl repeat

06:50 AM ET 04.26 | Based on the odds of teams being able to do so, a second consecutive title sets up as an uphill climb in Baltimore, something even Ravens legend Ray Lewis would admit. "It's going to be very hard, after you lose that much chemistry," Lewis told USA TODAY Sports. "But who knows? It's unpredictable, as always. Hopefully, they try to pull enough together, use their youth and try to make a run. But it's hard to try that formula. That formula usually doesn't work." Lewis is visiting the city during NFL draft week to promote his partnership with United Athletes Foundation and their charity efforts in America's "underserved communities." ... "I'm humbled to be a part of anything that they do, much less to look down on my phone and having them call me," he said.

It's hard to repeat, period. Some of the things that fell the Ravens' way last year, may very well fall to someone else this year. But, barring any major injuries, the Ravens will certainly be in the hunt.

The Ravens won the Super Bowl because they got hot during the playoffs. Nobody really saw it coming, and its very hard to catch lightning in a bottle twice in a row.

Ozzie actually managed the free agency storm pretty well. They were going to lose players, but they got some value back, thanks to faulty fax machines. They will be a tough out, but I don't think they can get back to the Bowl.

Exactly.

And - as a fan - all you can hope for is to be in the hunt.

They won't repeat, the 49ers are too strong for anyone else to win it next year. The Ravens wouldn't even have won this year if Harbaugh had run the ball in when they had 2nd and goal from inside the 5.

What kind of faith does he have that he'll be a repeat murderer?

And if defensive holding is called against 49ers at end of NFC championship game they never get to the SB. If, If, If. Maybe they find another way to lose the SB next year. Ravens have as good a shot at it as anybody, especially after rebuilding the defense - lot of new hungry players.
