Bama gets cornerback commit

03:48 PM ET 04.26 | Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide make it look easy, and on the same day the Tide saw players drafted back-to-back-to-back in the first round of the NFL Draft, they landed a top defensive prospect in cornerback Stephen Roberts out of Opelika (Ala.) High School. Now, Roberts is a long way from being Dee Milliner. Milliner was considered a five-star, the No. 2 cornerback recruit in the country in high school, and it turned out he blossomed into a lockdown guy worthy of a top-ten pick. Meanwhile, the 6'0, 177-pound Roberts is merely a four-star recruit per most scouting services. With only five commits thus far, Alabama is already starting to build a strong defensive backfield in the class of 2014. Roberts joins Kalvaraz Bessent, also a four-star corner, and Chris Williams, a defensive back who went to high school with Bessent.

"Only" a four star? Is Saban loosing his touch? Or is this kid underrated? ;-)

We get 4 stars. There's not that many 5 stars out there. Of course, you realize..... Marlon Humphrey of Hoover, Alabama is still uncommitted and he is a 5 star DB, and is the son of Bobby Humphrey, who was a big star for Bama 84-87.

He'll wind up at Tennessee after being snubbed by some Bama booster or coach. It's the teenaged rebellion thing coupled with the desire to make his own path, different from his father's.

Sorry, Tin Man, he's not going to The Land of Nod.
