09:07 PM ET 04.27 | Spurs center Thiago Splitter is out indefinitely after spraining his left ankle, according to head coach Greg Popovich. San Antonio is hopeful that the Brazilian could return if the Spurs are able to advance past the Lakers. Splitter rolled his ankle in the fourth quarter of Game 3 on Friday night, a game the Spurs looked dominant. After being helped on the floor, Splitter was later spotted leaving the building with an air cast. With Splitter out, look for DaJuan Blair and Matt Bonner to get increased minutes alongside Tim Duncan. If the Spurs can complete the sweep of the Lakers Sunday, San Antonio will have about a week to get their big man back in action

A whole lot of injuries going on these playoffs. Hope everyone pulls through okay and we have a good finish to this season...

QUOTE(#3):

They'll need him back. Hopefully he rests for a week or so and is then able to return. The Spurs are looking very good for a deep Playoff run this year. You have the Clippers with a lot of depth and ability, as well as the Heat as good as ever, but beyond that, a lot of teams have simply imploded or been decimated by injuries, giving the Spurs a good chance to go far.

You are being overly generous with regard to the Clips. Though for my bud(ette) Mecca's sake I hope you are right. That game yesterday looked an awful lot like an implosion. I've seen similar 2-2 series where one team got blown out in a game and still came out on top at the end. So we'll see.

This is just the break the Lakers need! I can see them sweeping the next 4. Well, maybe not...

Splitter is out 7-10 days and will miss the rest of this series. He played 81 of the 82 regular season games, so on the bright side, he'll get some rest.

The article mentions more playing time for Blair, which is true. But may also see TMac get some time as well, as Spurs are definitely short-handed on size.

(Note to interns: it's Tiago, not Thiago. And it's DeJuan, not DaJuan.)
