Are Packers concerned about Eddie Lacy's durability?

02:11 PM ET 04.28 | Players with Eddie Lacy's pedigree don't drop to the bottom of the second round without serious red flags. While his play at Alabama suggests that he can play through nagging injuries and his frame suggests that he can take some punishment, Lacy fell to 61st overall because of numerous injury and durability concerns. Even if the Green Bay Packers are confident that he will be an every down back from Week 1, his selection is still a risk to some degree. A anonymous personnel executive said, "I can hear people saying, 'Oh my God, they got this guy at 35. He's a beast,. But then his toe's not right and he's got this hamstring and he's over there on the bicycle the entire training camp. And the GM and the coach are, like, 'This freaking guy. We knew it. We knew it.'"

Wasn't there a T&T about his work ethic last week ?

Kinda doesn't matter since GB lucked onto Franklin, too.

Lacy could be a steal. But about half of RBs are busts any way.

Agreed, but the concern should also be focused on the Packer's o-line. Not saying they're horrible, but they have imitated turnstiles on both run and pass plays the last couple years. Instead of saying "hut hut!", Rodgers should say "Ole!"

At the Alabama Pro Day, Lucy was out of shape. Perhaps due to his injury rehab. He had to take rest breaks, which are not usual, and didn't even finish his workout. He definitely comes with some risk. In today's drafts, using a 2nd round pick on a running back means that you think he can be a big time star. There is so much depth there that backs picked in the 5th round are still very good.

No cause they couldn't get a read on his speed during the combine Pro day time. One reason I was surprised he went to the Packers (as opposed to the Rams Steelers or Cards) was cause he is not much help in the passing game and who knows how good he'll be at picking up blitzes Franklin made more sense for them

Well the powers that be have finally come to the realization that RB's don't have a long shelf life so picking them early is not in the best long term interests of the teams

No, he fell because NFL GMs no longer place a high priority on running backs.
