07:58 PM ET 04.28 | The Los Angeles Lakers are on the verge of being swept out of the playoffs for the first time since 2009. That year, the Dallas Mavericks made quick work of Phil Jackson's squad, despite the hall-of-fame coach revealing a prostate cancer diagnosis to his team during the series. Jackson waited until the end of the season, and stepped away from his position with the Lakers at the same time. Jackson discussed the story in his upcoming book, "11 Rings." Pau Gasol described the news as "shocking" to Kevin Ding on Saturday. "But then you also could understand certain moments of his demeanor, energy and involvement because of what he was going through health-wise," Gasol added.

If PJ won't return to the Lakers in some capacity, I don't think Dwighmare will re-sign with them, $25M more and all.
