Bears icon on Vikes' radar?

06:51 AM ET 04.29 | The Vikings took two linebackers over the weekend -- Gerald Hodges in the fourth round and Michael Mauti in the seventh -- but that doesn't meant they've filled the hole created by Jasper Brinkley's signing with Arizona. [Only] Mauti is likely to compete in the middle. That means the Vikings could move Erin Henderson from the weak-side to the middle, they could look at 2012 seventh-round pick Audie Cole or they could hope that Mauti recovers from surgery he had to repair a torn [ACL]. ... There also is a possibility the Vikings could look at veterans remaining on the free-agent market, such as former Chicago Bear Brian Urlacher. "We're going to sit and assess what we have," [Rick Spielman] said.

Sem isn't going to like this.

Wow. There's a new approach. Forgive my ignorance, but I would imagine that's something every GM should do at least probably 2 or 3 times a day.

It may be a possibility, but I think it would be unlikely. He'll be 35 next month, and he's far from what I would call durable anymore.

April 29, 2013  08:38 AM ET

2 million from the Bears was an "insult", but he's going to end up playing for the veteran minimum at best. I can see it since he'll be "sticking it" to the Bears, but as Melman said he's far from durable. Still a serviceable player when healthy.

It was a joke last year when he ran an interception back for a TD, like it was in slow motion. So now that he's lost a step or two he's got to overcommit and pray he's made the right read.

If he signs somewhere it won't be pretty, but it usually isn't when HOF players do that. Honestly the only one I can think of who played pretty decent was Montana.

And Brett Favre.

There's no point in doing this from a football standpoint, unless you just want to piss off the Bears. Hire him as a consultant.

Minnesota: where the castaways of the Black and Blie division go when they should just retire already.

He's no shoe in for the HOF in my book. Bit** slapping the Bears on his way out ain't gonna help.

Urlacher and his agent initially proposed a two-year, $11M deal.

They should have known better... that's not even a reasonable way to start negotiations.

There's no way an iconic player in the NFC North would move to another team in the NFC North. Never happen! :)
