NHL Draft Lottery on Monday night

04:26 PM ET 04.29 | The NHL Draft Lottery will be held in Toronto on Monday night. For the first time in history, all 14 non-payoff eligible teams will have a shot at earning the No. 1 overall selection in the draft. Of course, while each team has a shot, the likelihood of earning the pick is slim. Operating on a sliding scale, each club is given a weighted opportunity to earn the pick. The last place Florida Panthers have the best odds at winning at 25 percent. The Columbus Blue Jackets -- who narrowly missed the playoffs -- have a 0.5 percent chance of winning. In the event a team other than Florida wins the lottery, a team can move back no further than one selection from their final standing. The lottery only determines the first overall pick.

Is that the "polite" WGAF?

Seth Jones and Eric Gudbarason should be a formidable defensive pairing for a decade or so

I could see how watching a draft lottery might enthrall one if all they had to watch was an Oilers or Flames game.

But I just painted a wall of my house so I'm going to watch it dry instead.

GOD ALMIGHTY! You get to watch paint dry tonight? I could barely stand that excitement. I'm going outside until dark and watch my weeds multiply! (or divide or something).

It's only a 30 minute program. I've wasted far more time on far more meaningless endeavors.

Like the 2012 Cowboys season...

I understand that aspect.

But I've never understood watching drafts period.

Let alone a lottery to see who gets to pick #1..... I mean they aren't even picking players.

The critics gave the paint job 4.5 stars out of 5, so how could I pass up watching it dry?

Of course, I will have the decency to DVR it and fast-forward to the important part...

My time is valuable. Can't miss RAW.

I completely understand....

With me it was a "replay" of Game of Thrones. We offically watched it last night but I was doing the old snore routine in my chair while 1st running it.

I just finished viewing it and have to say the book means nothing to this group of hooligans presenting GOT for TV.

Back to RAW. I was a huge fan. But once I was away from home on Mondays (2005), I grew apart from the bonding element that occured my son.

Sad really cause I used to really like the story lines.

Point taken. Sounds like you're the Michaelangelo of house painters! Hope it was a great evening. :)
