06:06 PM ET 04.29 | It is going to be a long road back to the NFL for former Denver Broncos and New York Jets back up quarterback Tim Tebow. He was released by the Jets this morning and now the question of where he will take his circus on the road to next is the most discussed about topic on ESPN and other networks. Quite frankly, it's unlikely that Tebow will land anywhere relevant anytime soon. Like Terrell Owens and Chad Johnson, teams are unwilling to take on a player that attracts so much media attention. These players are distractions and take away from the team. It becomes a side show that most general managers want no part of. While the NFL is a long shot, the Montreal Alouettes have extended an open invitation to Tebow. The Alouettes own Tebow's rights in the CFL, and they said that he is welcome to come to Canada and compete... for a backup job.

Sweet html job.

It might be time for a position switch if he wants back in the NFL...

April 30, 2013  06:19 AM ET

That's amusing... mainly because there are people who still swear he should be a starter in the NFL.

TMZ had an article that he was wanted to QB in the Lingerie league... Seriously.

Impossible, he can't take a snap from one of those centers until after marriage.

I think you need to take this writer's comments with a grain of salt....Teams DON'T want media attention? At the end of the day, the NFL and NFL teams are a business. it's about marketing brands and putting butts in seats to make a profit. You get that by becoming popular (by winning games) and by attracting and maintaining the interest of the population at large. You can't get that by being ignored by the media. That's why you see so many instances where sports writers get incredible access. Saying that teams don't want media attention is incredibly naive. Further, teams balked at TO not because of the media scrutiny but because he was a problem child that created a toxic environment in the locker room. This story is why bloggers shouldn't be allowed a large audience.

Some bloggers are speculating that San Fran might sign Tebow to back up Kaepernick. Pretty sure its simply pure speculation at this point but I guess we'll see.

Actually, Montreal would be a perfect fit for him. They have Anthony Calvillo as their starter. He may be arguably the best QB to play that position in CFL history. He plans on playing only this year, and possible another until he retires. Tebow may be able to sit and watch and learn the CFL game. He could become their starter in 2014 or 2015 depending on how long Calvillo plays. Look what the CFL did for Moon, Theisman, Flutie, and others.

The back up job in the CFL is behind Calvillo the all time North American leader in passing yards

Unless you follow the CFL, not many people south of the border will know Calvillo. I have always followed the CFL, and wondered why Anthony Calvillo wasn't given more of a shot to make the NFL. Toronto's Ricky Ray had a cup of coffee with the Jets also. How many Grey Cups has he won? He needs a place to develop and learn. The CFL is the perfect place for him to do that.
