Is this Danny Briere's final season with Philadelphia Flyers?

07:46 PM ET 04.29 | Danny Briere may be playing his final game as a Philadelphia Flyer tonight against the Ottawa Senators. The veteran forward has played six seasons with the Orange and Black, and quickly rose to a fan favorite. Known for his scrappy play around the net, success on the power play and dominance in the postseason, Briere's time in Philly was warranted. Unfortunately, the last two seasons he's battled through injuries, missing 12 and 14 games, respectively. The 35-year-old will have a cap hit of $6.5 million per year and will likely be bought out or traded this offseason. And Briere has been outspoken about enforcing his "non-movement" clause to decline all trades and remain in Philadelphia. Now being bought out is a different story. It's likely the team will need to create cap space this offseason to rebuild its defense or sign a scoring forward, and the best method to create more room would be using the amnesty rule on Briere's bloated contract. According to Capgeek, the Flyers would open approximately $2.1 million in space by buying out his contract.

Definitely will be bought out. Danny's adamant stand on a trade seals the deal. He could have helped a playoff team, but has no further worth for the Flyers

I hear they like their core, but are going to turn over the rest of the roster. Yawn.

The way they underachieved at least half the team needs to be bought out.
