07:07 AM ET 04.30 | Fans of the former MLB star would likely expect nothing less from former slugger Mark Grace. [Grace] serving his jail sentence for a driving-under-the-influence conviction the way his fans might expect: as a model inmate who exceeds expectations, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Department. "It is my understanding Mark is a 'model' inmate and does a lot of volunteering with cleanup and other activities," MCSO spokesman Joaquin Enriquez said Monday. "He is looked up to by other inmates at Tent City." Grace, of Scottsdale, has about six weeks left of his four-month sentence, which began Feb. 10 and ends June 10. He stays in Tent City from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily.

QUOTE(#2):

Yea this is news to me. I am also surprised he is serving time? Does he have past offenses?

It's his second and apparently he violated terms from his first conviction. So ... jail time.

He'll become a featured speaker at AA meetings when he gets out.

Always liked Grace. Hope he turns his life around.

Randy Johnson in this picture is thinking "would u just ****", god he never shuts up when he drinks.

Is the sheriff making him wear pink underwear like he does the other inmates?

"Your slider was crap, Randy...I hit you like a pitching machine...what'd I have, 45 or 50 HRs off you? I timed your fastball with a sundial..."

I imagine Grace won't want the headline as his epitaph.

"He stays in Tent City from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily." So what's his schedule? When is he doing all this cleanup and volunteer work, in middle of the night? I suspect he checks in just before 6 p.m., eats dinner shortly thereafter and then probably crashes not long after that. He then gets up in time to go home at 6 a.m.
