07:21 AM ET 04.30 | As recent history has shown, make the playoffs and just about anything can happen. A hundred days after general manager Ken Holland sent the Red Wings into the regular season with that directive, they exited having accomplished the first. Now, anything really can happen. The Wings enter the playoffs as the seventh seed in the Western Conference and begin their Stanley Cup campaign tonight at Honda Center when they take on the Anaheim Ducks in Game1 of the best-of-seven series. "If you're not a believer in that all you've got to do is get in and you have a chance to win," Daniel Cleary said Monday, "you're obviously not looking at the big picture, and the past. We don't go into it as a huge underdog, quite frankly. We think we're a good team."

I would never count these guys out

Perennial winners and I don't mean they won a raffle at the florists

April 30, 2013  08:24 AM ET

They aren't exactly limping into the playoffs... and Anaheim isn't exactly surging.

Can never count anyone out in the playoffs. But, whatever the outcome, it's going to be a bruising series with the team that's better in net prevailing.

Notice to the other 15 teams in the playoffs:
The Wings are coming for the Cup like Liam Neeson for his kidnapped daughter.

[Okay, maybe not... I got tricked into drinking the same Kool-Aid Leafs and B's fans drink.]

HA RP...I hope it is so. Last week I didn't even know if they'd make it in...now I think they may get by the Ducks...after that it's whoever survives in the first round....like everyone says...the playoffs are a whole different game

Perhaps the Buttgoblin could decree that Anaheim be put on To***to Standard Time for the playoffs.

I've got my 6 barreled PPVR all programmed up.

I'll be squeezing in the Champion's League game first. Then I have a couple of Monday night TV shows as well.

So I'll probably have hockey skipping and jumping and scanning to get it all in.

But if Det goes to OT I'll be in bed.

Babcock loves been tagged the underdog going into a series and like or not his team is the dog in this one. I hope I'm wrong but I can't see the Wings getting to round 2. The Ducks have been dominate all year and I don't see that changing in the playoffs

Nice Avatar Slappy. I don't think Harry has noticed it:-)

The Wings have a good chance to get to round 2. But then they will probably get the $#*%Blackhawks. I foresee an awesome Chicago/Pittsburgh final this year. It is also fun to see all of the original 6 teams in the playoffs foir the first time this millenium!

Good luck to your Wings MH. There is always an upset in the playoffs so maybe the Wings can pull one off.
