01:54 PM ET 04.30 | The Minnesota Wild are already considered heavy underdogs for their Western Conference Quarterfinal series against the top-seeded Chicago Blackhawks, but in addition, they won't be getting the services of one of their big deadline acquisitions, at least not in Game 1. Jason Pominville, whom Minnesota acquired in early April from the Buffalo Sabres, will not play in Game 1 at the United Center. He's still recovering from a head injury suffered on an elbow from Dustin Brown of the Los Angeles Kings on April 23. Despite participating in line rushes and practicing on Monday, Wild head coach Mike Yeo said today that Pominville was not quite ready to get back in, and woke up not feeling well on Tuesday morning. Pominville has 14 goals and 20 assists this season, including four goals and nine points in nine games since his trade to Minnesota.

Wouldn't matter if he did play...

Biggest mismatch of the first round. Like Golden Bay said, wouldn't matter even if he was out there.
