12:04 AM ET 05.01 | The Philadelphia Eagles traded up to the first pick in round four of the 2013 NFL Draft to select former USC Trojans signal-caller Matt Barkley. It was immediately believed that the Eagles traded with the Jacksonville Jaguars in order to get ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs who were looking to select Barkley with the No. 99 overall pick, but drafting Barkley doesn't appear to have ever crossed the Chiefs' mind. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke with WHB in Kansas City and said that the rumors of the Chiefs' interest in Barkley was laughable.

Damn, Andy Reid... that's cold.

Matt Barkley doesn't fit into the iggles system, and they already have QB competition that's much better than him.... They thought they were sticking it to Reid with this pick, obviously.

Tell me, what's the Iggles system right now?

The EAGLES don't know what their system is right now. So please, enlighten me.

So far Chip Kelly has eluded that he's going to run a 3-4 / 4-3 hybrid on defense.

As far as the offense goes, nothing has been confirmed. The only information that we currently have about the Eagles offensive system is that it's going to be up tempo. That's it. Everything else, including what kinds of plays they are going to run, has been purely speculation.

In Chip Kelly's words, he builds his system around his players, and not vice versa. Until we see otherwise, it's impossible to claim who does / doesn't fit.

Chip Kelly's offense has been showcased in the NCAA for quite some time now... There's a team in Oregon... They are called the "Ducks" (can you believe that).

Although you tried to create the perfect storm here, remember we are talking about Matt Barkley and his capabilities... I would LOVE if Matt Barkley worked out for the Iggles. That would mean many many more years of mediocrity, and of course... No ring.

The up tempo part will just give the ball to the punting team faster.

Ol'Chipper is gonna take a big learning curve this year trying to run his Quack-Quack Offense from Oregon, and if the Eagles don't have a clue what there system is yet then they are in deep Do-Do. How did they manage to draft players in the draft to fit there system?

That is one gawdawful picture of Barkley; SI oughta lose it.

They could always post the one of Big-headed Mark Sanchez in a little tux instead...

a) "Alluded"

b) I don't care how it goes down; all I know is the Cowboys, once again, barfed all over themselves with this draft, not getting the linemen they needed and failing, again, to draft a QB to develop.

*sigh*

6-10, 6-10! Rah.

You are completely and utterly wrong, my man. Seeing how Chip took a Ertz in the 2nd round, signed Casey in FA, and has Celek, one would wonder how in the world they would run the same offense he did at Oregon. Because, they won't. He signed an OC who has vast west coast offense knowledge and you would think they are going to run something similar to the Patriots. I would put it in bullet points, but I'm too lazy. We will see if Chip will be able to adapt with a different offense in the NFL, but I will bet you that's exactly what is going to try and do. Plus, he's a smart man, and realizes his Oregon offense probably won't work for much longer in the NFL.

That was just one version of Kelly's offense, one that featured a certain kind of QB. Kelly has said that he can fit any style of QB to his system, so assuming the Eagles will look like a pro version of the 2012 Ducks is a tad short sighted.

It remains to be seen which personnel Kellys decides to use, and after he makes that decision I think we'll have an idea what the offense is gonna look like. But until that happens it's just a guessing game.

Everyones a genius these days, even if they only scan what they read for highlights, which usually get all twisted out of the original context. Which blows because sometimes you have some good, new info and people cant even enjoy it because they're so busy arguing a point that's already been established. It's a bummer.

But on the positive side, some of us read your comments thoroughly and appreciate the insight you bring. Keep up the good work, hombre, and **** all the haters.

That, too.

Luckily for Eagles fans Chip isn't a **** like Mike D'Antoni. Meaning Kelly is actually willing to tailor his scheme to his talent.

It's an underrated but critically necessary skill. Coaches cant let their ego limit their teams. You HAVE to work with what you got, and it appears that Chip Kelly is willing to do just that
