06:57 AM ET 05.01 | Because he'd met with most of the league other than the Chiefs, Nico Johnson was floored to find out they'd selected him No. 99 overall in this past week's draft. Johnson said the news that he's a pro football player still is soaking in. "Now I've got the mindset that I want to go out and earn everything that was given to me," he said. ... When he reports next Thursday for rookie minicamp, the Chiefs might think he's already wearing shoulder pads. "I've got a big chip on my shoulder," said Johnson, who was typecast as a run-stopper at Alabama because he was replaced by C.J. Mosley in passing situations. "It was already there before the end of the season. I can't wait. I'm so motivated right now to go out and do my best."

No, it is his final paycheck from the Alabama Alums. He should just cash it and move on, less weight, he will run faster.

Does everyone in the NFL these days have a chip on their shoulder? It's really tiring hearing about them all the time.

How much wood can a woodchipper chip?

All these rookies with chips on their shoulders need to shut up and earn their roles on their teams.

Plus, teams need to figure out how these bone chips weren't previously detected.

My question is this: If nearly every team met with the kid, yet he wasn't taken by one of those teams, and the team that DID take him was a team that never met him... shouldn't the Chiefs be thinking there might be a good reason none of them took him? Just sayin'.
