07:11 AM ET 05.01 | Steven Bench is out, of course, leaving the question of who was in somewhat cloudy for Bill O'Brien. After the Blue-White game, O'Brien had said the competition between Bench and junior college transfer Tyler Ferguson had yet to produce a true leader. He reiterated that point [Tuesday] afternoon. "I didn't see there was this huge separation," O'Brien said. "Again, I don't want anybody to transfer." ... With Bench gone, the quarterback race will obviously be down to two players: Ferguson and incoming freshman Christian Hackenberg, who is scheduled to enroll in June. O'Brien said the two of them would get similar repetitions at practices for preseason camp, with Ferguson likely receiving a few more.

So, Nit fans, are we to take from the thread-topping blurb that PSU is down to 2 QBs on the roster?

May 1, 2013  10:44 AM ET

2 scholarship QBs, yes. Several walk-ons.

Maybe he can borrow one from Saban. I think Alabama has at least 6 qb's on scholarship.

Normally I would kind of agree. But the kids that are at PSU today had a chance to leave and the recruits comming in had a chance to go somewhere else. Sorry but PSU will pay for hiding a pedaphile in their ranks. I suspect you are a PSU fan.

Pachy ??? I agree PSU should pay the price and take their medicine. Knowing that, I???m sure you were outraged when Bama begged out of a home-and-home with PSU in 2003-2004 because they were crippled with NCAA imposed sanctions and weren???t up to the test. Sounds like when they had to ???pay the price??? as you say, they chose instead to run away like a bunch of crimson faced little girls.

Talk about a program that went from the penthouse to the outhouse. I don't foresee O'Brien staying there too much longer.

Oh, you should see the girls in Tuscaloosa, Babbee...

To qualify, I have visited Tuscaloosa. I am not a Bammer.

Not sure what that has to do with my post but I will attempt to respond anyway since I am board.

If I understand you correctly you are saying that Bama did not suffer under the penalties imposed by the NCAA because we would not play PSU? If that makes you feel better about your school please continue to follow that train of thought. I believe that home and home was played in 2010 & 2011. I was at the 2010 game and t that time we did not realize we were playing Pedophile State University and I actually stood and cheered for JoePa when he ran out.

As far as cheating goes when Bama has been caught I have felt that they should pay the price. I may not agree with the extent of the punishment but I do agree that they need to be punished. This holds true for any school caught cheating.

My previous post was in response to someone stating that PSU was being punished now for something that happened in the past. The obvious question would be when do you want them to punish the school? They can start punishing the schools ahead of time if you like. Do you think PSU is helping out any other sex offenders? Maybe we should alert the NCAA now and that way they can start to punish the school now.

University is being punished - not the kids - they chose to go there knowing the sanctions

I'm eager to see Hack in college. I was really impressed with him on the Elite 11 TV Show, and how he stuck to his committment to Penn State. Bright young man.
