07:17 AM ET 05.01 | Would Peter Karmanos do it again? [Karmanos] has every intention of selling the Florida Everblades of the ECHL. He has no intention of selling the Carolina Hurricanes. In an interview Tuesday, Karmanos said the fact he has put the Everblades and their arena in Estero, Fla., on the market should not be interpreted as an indication he wants or has plans to divest all of his hockey interests. "I like owning the Hurricanes," Karmanos said. Told that his decision to sell the Everblades could cause concern, even some nervousness, among Canes fans, Karmanos laughed. "Some people have been nervous ever since we moved to North Carolina (in 1997)," he said.

"Everblades" has got to be one of the worst names for a hockey team. Sounds like something starring Michelle Kwan, Nancy Kerrigan and Brian Boitano.

Florida Pythons would've been much cooler as they're taking over the state.

Stephen Foster was going to write a song about it until a friend urged him to change it to the Suwanee River which he shortened to Swanee River and the rest is history.

Yeah. Every time one ventures out of the swamp it quickly gets turned into a purse or a pair of boots. Or, at least I hope they do.

Thanks BF. Once again you prove my point that only on the Hockey threads can you actually learn things, further your education, your understanding of world events, view things with the perspective that a PhD in history will provide and actually view the playoffs from a thoughtful, intellectual point of view. Or something.
