05:57 PM ET 05.01 | The Kansas City Chiefs finally made a trade but it wasn't the one we were all expecting. Javier Arenas has been traded to the Arizona Cardinals for fullback Anthony Sherman. Arenas recorded 60 tackles and two forced fumbles last season, his third in the NFL. For his career, he has two interceptions, four sacks, 22 passes defended. Sherman is a notable special teams player and was the captain for the Cardinals for that position group. He was not an offensive weapon in any way, accumulating just 14 touches in two seasons. Arenas was probably not going to make the team after all of the offseason acquisitions to bolster the secondary. Kansas City signed Sean Smith, Dunta Robinson, and Hussain Abdullah in free agency and then drafted Sanders Commings in the fifth round. It would seem a numbers game was going to force Arenas out. We also now know the Chiefs are going to be mixing up their return game. The early candidates would appear to be Knile Davis, Devon Wylie, and Dexter McCluster. Can you think of any others? This does pose a question about Braden Wilson, the Chiefs' sixth-round draft pick from this past weekend. With the arrival of Sherman, does that mean Kansas City will be carrying two fullbacks or, more likely, does it mean one of them is not going to make the team? Wilson would seem like the odd man out, which would mean a potential wasted pick if the Chiefs cannot sign him to the practice squad.

I'd like to see Knile Davis returning kicks.

And it's cool that KC was able to trade Arenas instead of outright cutting him. I hope he goes on to have a successful NFL career.
